This policy explains what data the SC Portal Mobile app (package io.sitecommander.portal) handles and why. The app is published by E-Tech Sales LLC ("E-Tech," "we," "us") as the mobile companion to Site Commander, an on-premises security and communications platform. It supplements our general Privacy Policy.

What the app is

SC Portal Mobile turns an authorized staff member's phone into a portable Site Commander action panel. After a facility administrator provisions the phone, staff can trigger the automations and emergency actions their facility has assigned (for example: unlock a door, start an announcement, raise an alarm) and receive operational security and emergency notifications. The app is intended for authorized staff, not for the general public.

What data the app handles

Enrollment credentials. During setup you enter a one-time 8-digit code issued by your facility. In exchange the app receives your facility's Site Commander server address and a device-specific access key. These identify this phone to your facility's own server. They are generated by your facility, not collected from you.
Push notification token. The app registers with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), which issues a device push token. This token lets your facility's server deliver security and emergency notifications to this device.
Action and notification content. When you tap a button, the app sends that request to your facility's server. When your facility sends you a notification, its title and message pass to your device.

The app does not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, or any advertising identifier. It contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.

How we use it

Solely to operate the service: to authenticate this device to your facility's Site Commander server, to carry out the actions you trigger, and to deliver the notifications your facility sends. We do not use any of this data for profiling, advertising, or marketing.

How data is shared — no sale

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Data moves only where the service requires:

Your facility's Site Commander server. Button requests and device registration go directly from the app to the server your facility operates, over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Push registration and delivery use Google's FCM, which handles the push token and relays notification messages to your device. Google's handling is governed by the Firebase and Google privacy policies.
E-Tech relay. To reach FCM, notifications pass through a relay server operated by E-Tech. The relay forwards the notification to Google FCM for delivery; it is not used for any other purpose and is not shared onward.

Storage & security

The server address and device access key are stored encrypted at rest on your device (Android EncryptedSharedPreferences, AES-256). All network communication uses encrypted TLS/HTTPS. The push token is held by Google FCM as part of its messaging service.

Data retention & deletion

The app keeps its enrollment credentials and push token only while the device is provisioned. You can remove all locally stored data at any time by choosing Reset in the app or by uninstalling it. A facility administrator can revoke this device from the Site Commander server, which disables its access. To request deletion of records held by your facility, contact your facility administrator; for records held by E-Tech's relay, contact us at the address below.

Notifications — to display the security and emergency alerts your facility sends.
Internet / network access — to reach your facility's server and receive push notifications.

Children's privacy

SC Portal Mobile is a workforce tool for authorized facility staff. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised "Last updated" date.
